1. Definitions
"We", "Us", "Our" refers to Fast Laundry Ltd. "Customer", "You", "Your" refers to the person or business placing an order. "Items" refers to garments, linen, textiles or other articles submitted for processing. "Services" refers to washing, drying, folding, ironing, linen hire, and any other laundry services we provide.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By placing an order with us — whether in person, online, by phone, or via collection — you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. These terms apply to all services unless otherwise agreed in writing.
3. Services & Processing
- We will process your items with reasonable care and skill in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
- We follow care label instructions where present. If care labels are missing, faded, or incorrect, we will use our professional judgement. We accept no liability for damage caused by incorrect or missing care labels.
- We do not guarantee the removal of all stains. Some stains may be permanent or may have been set by previous treatment. We will make reasonable efforts to treat stains but cannot guarantee results.
- Certain fabrics, colours, and finishes may not withstand normal laundering or dry cleaning. We accept no responsibility for inherent defects in items, including but not limited to: colour fastness issues, shrinkage within manufacturer tolerances, deterioration of trimmings, buttons, or embellishments.
- Items left uncollected for more than 90 days may be disposed of after written notice. We will attempt to contact you before disposal.
4. Prices & Payment
- All prices are quoted exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. VAT at the prevailing rate (currently 20%) will be added to all charges.
- We reserve the right to amend our prices at any time. You will be notified of any price changes before processing begins.
- Payment is due on collection for retail customers. Business customers with agreed credit terms must pay within the agreed period (typically 30 days).
- We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue invoices at 8% above the Bank of England base rate, in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
- We retain a lien on all items until payment has been received in full.
- Minimum order values apply and vary by distance. Current minimum orders: 0-10 miles: £15+VAT; 10-30 miles: £50+VAT.
5. Collection & Delivery
- Collection and delivery times are estimates only and are not guaranteed unless specifically agreed in writing.
- You are responsible for ensuring items are ready for collection at the agreed time and location.
- If we are unable to collect or deliver due to circumstances beyond our control (including but not limited to traffic, weather, vehicle breakdown), we will reschedule at the earliest opportunity.
- Risk in items passes to us on collection and returns to you on delivery or when items are made available for collection.
- You or an authorised person must be available to accept delivery. If no one is available, we may leave items in a safe place if instructed, or return them to our premises.
6. Liability & Claims
Important: Please inspect your items upon collection or delivery. Claims must be made within 24 hours.
- Any claim for loss or damage must be made in writing within 24 hours of collection or delivery. Claims made after this period may not be accepted.
- Our maximum liability for any single item shall not exceed 10 times the processing charge for that item, or the item's fair market value (accounting for age and wear), whichever is lower.
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses, including but not limited to: loss of profit, loss of use, sentimental value, cost of replacement outfit hire.
- Items of exceptional value (over £50 per item) must be declared at the time of order. Failure to declare high-value items limits our liability to £50 per item.
- We do not accept liability for:
- Pre-existing damage, wear, or defects
- Damage caused by missing, incorrect, or illegible care labels
- Colour loss, shrinkage, or distortion within manufacturer tolerances
- Damage to buttons, zips, buckles, beading, sequins, or other trimmings
- Items left in pockets (please empty all pockets before submission)
- Damage resulting from items being contaminated with chemicals, bleach, or other substances
- In the event of a valid claim, we may at our discretion: clean the item again at no charge, offer a fair reduction in price, or offer compensation up to the limits stated above.
7. Linen Hire
- Linen hire items remain the property of Fast Laundry Ltd at all times.
- You are responsible for the care of hired linen while in your possession.
- Lost, stolen, or irreparably damaged linen will be charged at the current replacement cost.
- Linen must be returned in reasonable condition. Linen damaged beyond normal wear (burns, tears, permanent stains from negligence) will be charged at replacement cost.
- Linen hire contracts require a minimum term as specified in the agreement. Early termination may incur charges as set out in the contract.
8. Data Protection
- We process personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- We collect and use your personal data (name, address, email, phone number, payment details) solely for the purpose of providing our services and communicating with you about your orders.
- We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Payment card data is processed securely by Stripe and is not stored on our systems.
- You have the right to access, rectify, or delete your personal data by contacting us.
9. Cancellations
- Orders may be cancelled before processing begins at no charge.
- Once processing has begun, the full charge applies.
- For online orders, in accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have 14 days from the date of order to cancel, unless processing has already begun with your express consent.
10. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any delay or failure in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: fire, flood, natural disaster, pandemic, epidemic, strikes, power failure, equipment breakdown, government restrictions, or any other event of force majeure.
11. Complaints
We take all complaints seriously. Please contact us at [email protected] or call 01524 230 545. We aim to resolve all complaints within 14 working days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may refer the matter to your local Trading Standards office or use the UK European Consumer Centre for cross-border disputes.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The latest version will always be available at our premises and on our website. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
